Let’s Celebrate Love!
LoveNotes! is a storytelling show in which real people share real stories about romantic love in all of its incarnations. A LoveNotes! story is the kind of yarn in which Cupid has shot someone in the heart and that person has lived to tell the tale.

LoveNotes! South Central PA Producers
LoveNotes! is expanding across the country, and South Central PA is an official licensee, bringing stories of love from your neighbors and spreading hope throughout our region. Meet your local producers, Tony and JJ.
Tony Crocamo
Following a 30-year career of providing marketing services for international engineering and design firms, Tony helps produce Lancaster Story Slam and is co-producing, with JJ Sheffer, the September 12 Love Notes! South Central PA program at West Art in Lancaster. Tony is Lancaster Story Slam’s 2017 Grand Slam winner and uses what he has learned at LSS and YSS in several other areas of his life.
Tony and his wife Christine volunteer with the Friends Committee on National Legislation – they lobby congress on issues of peace and justice. Tony is on the Executive Committee and Speakers Bureau of Fair Districts PA, presenting educational programs across the state and training volunteers on how to lobby legislators. A rostered teaching artist with the PA Council of the Arts, Tony lives in Lancaster County.
JJ Sheffer
JJ Sheffer is executive director of enroot, an organization that hosts arts and humanities-based events that create welcoming, safe spaces and utilize storytelling as a vehicle to help participants connect with others in their community. (Learn more about these programs by clicking here.)
JJ has worked in York’s nonprofit sector for nearly 30 years, as an employee, volunteer, grantmaker, consultant, advocate, lobbyist, and fundraiser - sometimes all at once.
She has served her community and the Commonwealth on various boards, including the Pennsylvania Humanities Council, the steering committee of the Women’s Giving Circle of York County Community Foundation, and the York County Economic Alliance. She was an adjunct lecturer at York College of Pennsylvania, and is now co-owner of The Hangar, a community event space in York, where she hosts York Story Slam.

LoveNotes! was created by author Heather Christie as a way to showcase love! “There are three ways to get involved: The Show, The Book, and/or The Podcast.

LoveNotes! is looking for stories of first love, last love, forever love, unrequited love, the against-all-odds love, gay love, trans love, the one-that-got-away love, happily-ever-after love, unexpressed love, if-I-could-do-it-again love, online love, arranged marriage love, worst-date-ever love, friends-to-lovers love, never-ending love, Oops!-that-was-a- mistake love, second-time-around love, and on and on. You get the idea—any story about romantic love in any of its incarnations. No stories about how much you love your mom, kid, teacher, etc.
In a 750 words or fewer, zoom in on a specific moment or scene in your love story that captures the overriding theme or arc. You must write your story (like a story) to submit it for either the show, the book, or the podcast.
Heather is looking for proof of love. Our hope is that you’ll share your story and together, we’ll spread hope like wildfire.
