LoveNotes! Lancaster 2026 Auditions
Thanks for your interest in LoveNotes! Real Stories. Real People. Real Love. The Lancaster show will be held on October 9, 2026 at West Art.
Spread the word. Tell the poets, lovers, dreamers, and anybody else who's ever been in love that LoveNotes! Lancaster is looking for TRUE, heartwarming to heartbreaking stories of first love, last love, forever love, unrequited love, the against-all-odds love, gay love, trans love, the one-that-got-away love, happily-ever-after love, unexpressed love, online love, arranged marriage love, worst date-ever love, friends-to-lovers love, never-ending love, oops-that-was-a-mistake love, second-time-around love, and on and on.
You get the idea—any story about romantic love in any of its incarnations. No stories about how much you love your mom, kid, teacher, etc.— a LoveNotes! story is the kind of yarn in which Cupid has shot someone in the heart and that person has lived to tell the tale. Funny is hard to find so if you have a humorous take on love, please audition. The only two requirements are:
Your story must be true.
Your story must be 750 words or fewer.
Auditions are by SELF-TAPE.
Write a 5-7 minute essay (750 words or fewer). Video record yourself reading the essay aloud on camera. Upload your video and manuscript (Word doc or PDF) using WeTransfer and send the link to LancasterStorySlam@gmail.com by July 17. Put LoveNotes Auditon-[Your Name] in the subject.
By auditioning, you agree to the following, should you be chosen for the show:
1) You are available on these dates (EST):
August 4 at 7 pm - meet the cast; Zoom read-through
September 8 at 7 pm – Full-cast Zoom rehearsal
October 9 at 3 pm – Full-cast in-person dress rehearsal at West Art
October 9 at 7 pm - Show at West Art!
If you can't make it for any of these days, don't audition.
2) You agree that your piece could be edited.
3) If you wish to schedule a one-on-one Zoom read-through with the director, you will do so prior to the August 4 full-cast read-through.
4) Each cast member will be considered, should they wish to be, for the New York City All Star Off Broadway LoveNotes! Show, the LoveNotes Anthology, and LoveNotes! Podcast.
Those who submit will receive notice of whether they’ve been cast by July 30, and the South Central PA cast will be announced publicly on August 10 via Facebook and Instagram, as well as on this website.
